俺对talking heads的感情是很复杂滴:
一方面david byrne喜欢作出夸张的nerd样子, 令身为nerd女的俺感到别扭. remain in light这张唯一我认真听过的th专辑我也不咋喜欢

另一方面他们的this must be the place(naive melody)有我最喜欢的爱情歌词之一

另外引人注意的是, 中国地下摇滚乐队听上去都很talking headish, 特别是几个bass主导的post-punk乐队. 中国人嘛, 自然而然就很nerd, 而且唱歌的方式也是那种故意念经似的方式, 我第一次听就觉得很熟悉, 这次下了talking heads的live album--"the name of the band is talking heads"才想起来, 原来是像他们啊.

这张live album真是好啊真是好, 他们的proper albums因为和Brian Eno合作, production搞得很重, 所以听起来很怪, 像remain in light是借用非洲音乐搞的多个节奏一起前进的funky beats, 而live就不一样啦, 这些花里胡哨的都要搞掉. CD1是70年代末的一场show, 成员只有四个人, singer/guitarist Byrne, drummer Chris Frantz, bassist Tina Weymouth, keyboardist/guitarist Jerry Harrison, 把场子搞得那么dynamic真的很强悍. CD2是到了80年代的一场, 成员变成鸟9个人(!), 包括keyboardist Bernie Worrel (of Parliament fame), guitarist Adrian Belew(King Crimson和Bowie的乐队的成员), backup singers Nona Hendryx and Dolette McDonald, second bassist (!) Busta Jones, and percussionist Steve Scales. 我真不能相信Belew和TH这么配, 听听那首现场版的born under punches, 太强悍了, 两个bassist在一个乐队里多难以平衡啊, 他们居然作到了.

啊, talking heads真是nerd同学们的骄傲啊, 人家的nerd pop也能搞到世界首席alternative rock band的称号(1987年后被U2和REM取代鸟)!
